One of the original set of Family cask releases from the Glenfarclas range of rare and old single cask releases that go all the way back to whisky distilled in 1952 and first released in 2007. Distilled 28/12/1961 Bottled 27/2/2007 Aged for 45 years in a single Sherry Hogshead cask#4913 Only 159 bottles released at natural cask strength of 46% ABV Exquisite dark peated amber in colour. A beautiful rich, fruity nose-astonishing for a whisky which is over 45 years old. Very sweet, almost toffee apple sweet. A big whisky, perfect in front of an open fire. It's a real armchair whisky, one that you can sit and enjoy for a very long time. Like a very heavy sherry, or a heavy treacle pudding sprinkled with christmas spices. The long, rich finish seems to last for hours and oozes toffee sweetness.
