Glen Garioch is situated in Oldmeldrum in the rich arable lands of Aberdeenshire, so is classed as a Highland distillery. Records date Glen Garioch back to 1797, although there are unsubstantiated claims that the distillery is older still, which may make it the oldest working distillery in Scotland.
Glen Garioch was once owned by William Sanderson who produced the famous old blend, Vat 69. In recent years, there has been a limited return to some floor maltings, with the vast majority of its spirit being for Single Malts.
