The Glendullan distillery was built in 1897 in Dufftown by William Williams and Sons and it was the seventh distillery to be built there. Glendullan started producing whisky a year later in 1898 and most of the initial whisky made was used in the Williams’ blends.
Glendullan whisky was also extremely popular with the Royal Family and King Edward VII announced that it was his favourite in 1902. It was also favoured by a speaker of the “Houses of Parliament” Betty Boothroyd.
