Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book The American Single Malt has been aged in a crazy combination of Ex-Bourbon casks and Apple and cherry wood chips. The Scotch Whisky Association would never allow this in the UK! A funky American whiskey from Rick Wasmund who is somewhat of a Willy Wonka of the whisky world and based in Virginia which is more famous for its tobacco than its whisky and there is somewhat of the flavoured pipe tobacco about this. Great if you want to try something different but not one for the whisky purest!
