An Italian red wine cask (the famous Barolo wine of the north of Italy made from the thick black skinned Nebbiolo grapes) finished triple distilled and non peated offering from the Springbank distillery limited to only 10,800 bottles and bottled at 57. 9% ABV. Nose: Shortbread with red berries, liquorice, fresh barley, dried coconut and subtle salty notes. Palate: Peppery red berries, salted shortcake biscuits, red liquorice and toasted coconut. Finish: Elegant mix of fresh grain, subtle salty/coastal, red fruits and anise spice notes with a dusting of coconut. A well balanced re-fill Barolo cask finished malt from the cult Campbeltown distiller that is sure to be a collectors item in the near future.
