Produced in just 2,000 bottles, Macallan's Folio 4 Single Malt Scotch was released in 2019 as the fourth edition in the distiller's Archival Series and was originally available exclusively through an online ballot! A historically significant moment in Macallan's marketing strategy, Folio 4 's label denotes the first instance musical notation was depicted in advertising on a page of the British newspaper, the Times. "The Strathspey King", James Scott Skinner, composed the dynamic piece and was inspired by the bright and lilting tones and beautifully nuanced complexity of a dram of Macallan's whisky. Expect aromatics of toasted nuts, malt, and brown sugar blended with chocolate. The palate offers hints of smoked meat, pine sap, apples, and sweet syrup drizzled over cherries.
