Laphroaig - Triple Wood Whisky 70CL
1897-od
$133.31 price per bottle

Laphroaig Triple Wood is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon caks, quarter casks, and Oloroso Sherry casks. The result is soft, rounded, and complex with rich, sweet, Sherry notes, vanilla, citrus, and masses of phenolic peat smoke. Nose: Sooty mango and passion fruit, bbq embers, smoked pineapple, oily toffee, smoked treacle, toasted walnuts and softer and creamier than iodine and peat. Palate: Rich and oily with smoked fruitcake and some sooty/ashy tropical fruit, aromatic spices, touches of chilli chocolate and earthy forest floor notes. Finish: Dark treacle with charred wood from a bbq, figs and dates soaked in sherry, antique oak, earthy chocolate, tumeric, chilli flake heat and more subtle medicinal notes than you would expect from Laphroaig. There is some sweeter and creamier notes to the medicinal style that this distillery is famous for here and more for the fans of the Quarter Cask edition than the 10 year old. Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book
