Deep purple-black, it opens with notes of tar, potting soil, chargrill and graphite with wild blackberries, dried floral perfume, hints of peppered meat and red and blue fruit sparks. Full-bodied, it gives up oodles of lush fruits with earthy accents, segueing to wonderful chocolate and baking spice, with a frame of firm, chewy tannins and freshness to lift, finishing long and chalky textured.
92 Points - Vinous The 2016 Todos is plump, juicy and inviting. Raspberry jam, plum and sweet spices all develop in the glass. Still a bit tightly wound, the 2016 has the potential to develop into a truly intriguing wine. This is an especially vivid, finely sketched edition of Jonata's entry-level red. Ordinarily I might say that I was impressed with these wines from Jonata, but quality is so consistently high now that it excellence is the norm. Matt Dees is one of the most brilliant winemakers of his generation. Year in year out I find myself drawn to Todos, the estate's entry-level wine, for the superb quality and value it offers.
