The Loire Valley has often been called the “garden of France. ” This pastoral landscape, with its gently rolling hills and majestic chateaux, is the largest sparkling wine region in France, outside of Champagne. One of the best known names in fine Loire Valley sparkling wines is Marquis de la Tour from Maison Ackerman. Maison Ackerman, which has been identified with premium quality Loire Valley sparkling wines since 1811, is the Loire Valley’s single largest wine producer.
Wine maker notes
This sparkling wine is made from 100% Loire grapes. Because of its northern location, the grapes maintain a high level of acidity. After fermentation, a portion of the juice is removed and the rest remains in contact with the skins to produce a beautiful pink color. Consistency and quality are carefully monitored to create very fine bubbles. The dosage has been perfected to make a clean, fruity but dry sparkling wine of extraordinary quality at a very attractive price.
