QUINTESSENTIAL CARIBBEAN Aged in Bourbon casks, then in Ferrand barrels, this old Barbadian rum owes its sophisticated aromatic complexity to the different species of wood used and their various degrees of toasting, as well as to different climates: tropical in Barbados and continental in France, where both dry and humid cellars are used. From nose to mouth, it expresses a rich palate of chocolate and ripe banana, with fresh and delicious mango notes. Lastly, a remarkably long finish makes Plantation XO a true sipping rum. TECHNOLOGY Alc. /Vol. : 40% Origin : Barbados Raw material : Molasses Fermentation : 3 to 5 days Distillation : Twin Column & Pot Still (1850 Batson) Tropical ageing : 8 to 15 years. The rums are chosen for their struture with aromatic characteristics suited for intensive oak aging. Continental ageing, elevage : 2 to 10 years. A blend of very old rums, finished in many different types of casks ranging from new white oak to Bourbon casks as well as Ferrand casks, each with different level of toasting. TASTE PROFILE Color : Attractive bronze Nose : The stunning floral/fruity opening aroma is transcendent, then releases fragrance of vanilla, cocoa and milk chocolate. Palate : The delightful mango notes lend evidence to its advanced age, a result of long maturation in French oak cask.
