A new limited release of just 15,000 bottles from Gordon & Macphail's Speyside distillery, Benromach. This bottling has been triple distilled to produce a softer, more delicate spirit. However, it has been bottled at a satisfying 50% ABV so still packs a punch in the flavour department. The use of first fill Bourbon casks imparts plenty of sweet vanilla, butterscotch, banana and white chocolate aromas and flavours that mingle with the subtle bonfire smoke that is characteristic of whisky from Benromach. Nose: Sweet vanilla mingles with cream cheese and strawberry with floral notes, citrus and light smoke. Palate: Soft and creamy with flavours of caramel, butterscotch, toasty oak, white pepper and citrus fruits. Finish: Sweet toffee and vanilla give way to peppery spice, wood, citrus, earthy notes and sooty embers. Has the attitude of a Bruichladdich and the most complete of the new batch of triple distilled single malts coming out of Scotland to date.
