An innovative Bourbon from Maker's Mark. After a standard maturation in new American oak casks, 10 seared virgin French oak staves are inserted into the barrel for a period of nine weeks. The result is an extra hit of oak, spice, and tannin that give this sweet, easy going whisky extra layers of flavour, texture, complexity. Nose: Dark toasted spices of clove and cinnamon, caramel, toffee wafers, french toast, orange curd, marzipan and well done brown toast. Palate: A juicy and buttery delivery with lots of toasted spices, peppery oak, ginger, anise and orange blossom honey on vanilla waffles. Finish: Sugared almonds, some minty chocolate, orange fondant and more dark caramel and toasted spices.
