Producer In 1883 Don Dalmacio Armando reaches Mendoza, he was an Italian immigrant who started working in the vineyards. Some years later he founded a very small winery, only to sell his own made wine to people from the neighborhood. Two years later arrives to the province his family and his brother Francisco, who started working under the direction of his eldest son, Don Armando Santiago. The family business started to develop and Don Armando was able to fulfill his dream of founding the winery in 1922. Because of this the first name of the winery was ”Armando Brothers”, honoring its founders. But also the winery had a spectacular amount of different oak barrels, still alive today, that could be seen from the outside. People started calling it “the winery with the barrels” by nature. This ended in calling the winery “Los Toneles” (The Barrels).
