Laphroaig 10 year old is an extremely full bodied Islay peated classic. Not the peat monster old, but still very much the marmite of the Whisky world, people love it or hate it with equal measure. Decide for yourself by trying a truly iconic Single Malt. Nose: Sooty five spice, boggy-earthy-iodine peat, chilli flake on seaweed, caramelised onions and curry powder fried together. An almost meaty, tar or hemp like note. Palate: Malty, sweet peat with briney honey, chilli flake heat, white pepper on seaweed, more iodine, smoked ribs on a coastal bbq, five spice, smoked toffee and sooty aniseed. Finish: Salty iodine, chilli flake and vanilla, earthy yet sweet, fish oils, black liquorice and lingering peat smoke.
