From the always reliable Rhone winemaking family behind Chateau de Beaucastel comes this lovely Vinsobres an appellation 40km north of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Here, the Perrins own the 60 hectare, high-terraced vineyard of Les Cornuds. The wine is an even blend of Grenache and Syrah, where the latter is partly aged in oak for 18 months. Grippy tannins meld with juicy bramble fruit plus notes of bacon, violets and herbs.
