A non age specification single malt from Japan's oldest and original distillery, Yamazaki. Average age here is @ 8 years with some older Sherry cask aged stock also used and aged in a combination of Red wine casks and Old Sherry casks for extra depth of colour and flavour. Nose: Plum jam on brown toast, red berry pavlova, sweet and aromatic spices, coconut yoghurt, egg custard, nutmeg, chesnut puree. Palate: Red berry jam, sweet spices, toasted vanilla, coconut, french toast, cinnamon. Finish: Praline, strawberry jam on cinnamon bagels, aromatic/incence notes, cherry and marzipan. A good introduction to the rich, sweet, aromatic and spicy Style of japanese whisky and comparable to a sherry cask aged Highland malt from Scotland (such as Dalmore or Glenmorangie)
