Founded in 1978, Pine Ridge Vineyards sits in the heart of the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, tucked beneath of ridge of pines that speak to the dramatic geologic origins of our home and unique soils. For over 40 years the winery has become a pioneer farming and vinifying Bordeaux grapes with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon. An enticing melange of baking spices intermingled with the mouth-watering aromas of a cherry raspberry compote demands a more in-depth sensory experience. Multiple, varied flavors of cranberry sauce, oven baked shortbread and strawberry jam explode on the palate, culminating in a sweet, juicy, round mid-palate. The acidic backbone provides focus to the lush texture of the wine and drives forward toward notes of vanilla and molasses. These meld nicely with aromatics of fresh blueberries, framed by the soft tannin finish. 92 Points - James Suckling Spiced and minty nose with blackberry, blackcurrant, blue flower, licorice and cedar notes. Full-bodied with lush, succulent fruit and velvety tannins. Ripe and concentrated, with a flavorful, dark-fruited finish. Rich and mellow. 90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The blended 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon incorporates fruit from five AVAs and is about one-third purchased fruit. Marked by black cherries and cassis fruit, it's a full-bodied, soft and lush effort that shows ample richness and texture. It easily handles the 50% new oak (a mix of French and American).
