Château Kalian, situated in the Monbazillac appellation of southwestern France, is a family-owned estate established in 1992 by Anne and Alain Griaud. The estate spans over 9 hectares and transitioned to organic farming practices in 2012. The name "Kalian" is a blend of their children's names, Katell and Kilian, both of whom are trained oenologists. Kilian now oversees the estate's operations. Wine Description The 2017 Château Kalian Bernasse Monbazillac is a certified organic sweet wine composed of 85% Sémillon and 15% Muscadelle. In the glass, it presents a deep straw-yellow hue. The nose is pronounced with aromas of orange blossom, honey, and ripe tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango. On the palate, it is luscious and full-bodied, offering flavors of marmalade, yellow fruits, and exotic stone fruits, all balanced by a refreshing acidity. The finish is warm and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of its rich fruit profile.
