Clos du Marquis is a distinguished red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation within the Bordeaux region of France. The name, created in 1902, was inspired by the 'Petit Clos' adjacent to the Château de Léoville, the residence of the Marquis de Las Cases. Clos du Marquis is a historical brand of the Domaines Delon, who also own Château Léoville Las Cases. Wine Description The wine presents a medium to deep garnet-purple colour. It has a highly aromatic profile, displaying vibrant notes of crushed blackcurrants, blackberries, and plums, along with classic Cabernet notes of cassis. Secondary aromas include violets, Indian spices, cigar box, graphite, and chocolate notes. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, with a finely crafted, polished texture. The black fruit core is framed by firm, grainy, and finely-grained tannins, supported by a bold freshness and bright acidity. Accolades "James Suckling - 94 points. " "Wine Enthusiast - 94 points.
