Lingua Franca's Bunker Hill Chardonnay originates from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, USA. Founded in 2015 by Larry Stone, David Honig, and Dominique Lafon, Lingua Franca is renowned for producing wines that authentically express their terroir. The Bunker Hill Vineyard, established in 1995, is among the earliest Dijon-clone Chardonnay plantings in Oregon, situated in the South Salem Hills at elevations between 650 and 700 feet. The vineyard's shallow, rocky volcanic soils contribute to the wine's distinctive mineral character. Wine Description The Bunker Hill Chardonnay displays a pale yellow-green hue. Aromas are predominantly mineral-driven, featuring notes of flint, hay, fresh herbs, lemon zest, and yellow flowers. On the palate, the wine is precise and taut, with underlying lemon nuances and a silky finish. This Chardonnay pairs exceptionally well with refined seafood dishes such as halibut, turbot, sole, flounder, or cod prepared with beurre blanc or simply poached in butter and seasoned with herbs or fennel pollen, accompanied by a squeeze of lemon juice.
