Clarendelle Amberwine is a dessert wine from the Monbazillac region of Southwest France. The brand was created by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, who is the owner and CEO of Clarence Dillon Wines. The name 'Clarendelle' is a combination of "Clarence" and "Dillon," honouring Prince Robert's great-grandfather, Clarence Dillon. The Clarendelle wines, inspired by the style of Château Haut-Brion, aim to be affordable yet display complexity, elegance, and balance. Wine Description Clarendelle Amberwine has a golden-yellow colour, which deepens to a magnificent "amber" as it ages. The wine is a blend of Sémillon and Muscadelle grapes. On the nose, it is very expressive with aromas of candied fruit and citron. Notes of ripe mango, peach slices, honey, orange marmalade, dried apricots, and beeswax are also present. On the palate, the wine is rich and luscious. It is full-bodied and soft, with a fine balance between sugar and acidity. It features flavours of honey, white peach, and apricot, and has a lively, long finish. The wine's character and structure are a result of a combination of late harvest and botrytis cinerea (noble rot) grape maturation.
