Angel's Envy was founded by Bourbon Hall of Fame member and Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson and his son Wes Henderson. The distillery is renowned for innovating the foundations of bourbon through a unique secondary finishing technique. Master Distiller Owen Martin created this expression to mark the first new, permanent addition to the brand's Signature Series lineup in over ten years. Description Angel's Envy Triple Oak is bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV). The mash bill consists of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Colour: A golden caramel hue. Aroma: The nose offers fresh, ripe apricot balanced by rich toasted oak, with highlights of honeysuckle blossom. Further savoury notes include dry leather and pipe tobacco. Palate: The body is full with bold baking spices from the oak, and subtle hints of brioche and vanilla custard. It delivers a complexity of flavour with baking spices, dark fruits, and a touch of cinnamon. The Chinkapin oak adds layers of caramel, vanilla, and a rich coffee nuance. Body and Finish: Top notes of red plum are anchored by fresh tobacco and leather tannins. The finish has a pleasant spice, with lingering notes of nutmeg, black pepper, and cardamom. It closes with a refined sweetness of brown sugar and molasses. The finish is long and dry on the back end, having taken on a decent amount of tannin in its secondary finishing. Production: This unique profile is achieved by initially ageing the bourbon in new American white oak barrels, then finishing a blend of bourbons in three distinct oak casks: Hungarian oak, Chinkapin oak (from Kentucky), and French oak (from France).
