Located in Calgary, Alberta Distillers is one of the few remaining 100 per cent Canadian rye whisky producers in North America and has been producing whisky for over 50 years. The distillery was founded in 1946 by local entrepreneurs Max Bell and Frank McMahon with the goal of creating high-quality, affordable products that are grounded in western Canadian values. The company is known for its 'seed to sip' philosophy, which emphasizes local sourcing, transparency, and quality at every stage of production, and uses grains from the Canadian Prairies and water from the Canadian Rockies. Description This whisky is crafted with 100 per cent Canadian rye grain and aged for nine years. The aging process uses three distinct barrel styles: new white oak, ex-bourbon, and ex-Canadian whisky casks. It has a golden amber colour. The aroma is described as having notes of caramel, leather, and coconut. On the palate, the whisky has flavours of raisin and molasses, with a finish that is sweet, yet laced with the signature rye spice. It is noted for its complexity and smoothness.
