Alto Limay is a collaboration between wine importer Paul Hobbs and Familia Schroeder, sourcing Pinot Noir from the family's high altitude vineyards (sitting over 1,100m above sea level) in the mountains of Patagonia. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented whole cluster in open top stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation is complete, 40% of the wine is aged for 8 months in new French and American oak barrels, while the rest ages in stainless steel. A prime example of high altitude pinot noir at its best -- concentrated, yet electric and precise, this fruit forward style of pinot is deliciously drinkable and refined.
