From the Valtellina Superiore appellation in the Lombardy region of Italy close to the border of Switzerland. Casimiro Maule was named Winemaker of the Year by the esteemed food and wine publication Gambero Rosso. The Nino Negri estate is at the foot of the Alps, and the vineyards are terraced. For this wine, Rosso dries 25% of its grapes before fermenting, which adds a particular depth and richness to the wine that you'll find different than Piedmont versions of Nebbiolo.
