2023 was a perfect storm of a vintage in our dear Napa Valley. After many years of drought, a pair of wet winters rebuilt the soil water profile. A mild start to the season with a late budbreak and lengthy periods in the goldilocks temperatures without any big heat spikes allowed us to let the fruit hang on the vine for an extended period without risking over-ripening. . This wine is rich and deep in purple hues, with beautiful floral notes that jump from the glass. Layers of cocoa and leather give way to a rich yet elegant burst of black and blue berry fruits.
