Ruby red in appearance, this wine is rich, opulent, and fruit-forward on the nose, with a vibrant, aromatic palate reminiscent of crisp mint and wild Mediterranean scrub, punching above its weight in body, structure, and density. . 94 point Wine Enthusiast. Aromas of pepper, wet slate tart blackberries and wild fennel swirl together to create a refreshing, invigorating nose. The palate layers more blackberries over black licorice and dark chocolate, before a finish of bitter citrus and tea leaf tang. The Argentiera 2022 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico is rich and velvety on first inspection, with a generous bouquet. The wine shows aromas of black cherry and blackberry preserves. The 2022 growing season was hot, with heat spikes lasting until mid-August. These conditions have created a front-loaded red with a moment of thinness on the mid-palate.
