This small production, family operated (their son Dennis is the Winemaker) crafts outstanding Chardonnays. The Lewis family has built one of the most respected Napa Valley brands. The wines just keep on getting better garnering outstanding critical acclaim with every vintage. The Napa Valley Chardonnay is a brilliantly rich, textured, sexy Chardonnay that has nicely integrated acidity and terrific balance. It exudes aromas and flavors of stone fruits, caramel apples, hazelnuts, butterscotch, oranges, and minerals. The finish is long and pleasant tailing off with toasty oak notes. This wine cries out for decadently rich dishes such as lobster Newberg or hot buttered popcorn.
