92 View from the Cellar. Alejandro Luna makes a stellar example of Godello. This is an old vine cuvée, made from sixty year-old vines, grown on soils of limestone and crumbling slate. The wine is fermented and raised in stainless steel tanks on its fine lees. His 2025 Godello comes in at a svelte twelve percent octane and delivers a refined aromatic constellation of tart pear, lemon, green olive, wet stone minerality, a hint of menthol and a topnote of lemongrass. On the palate the wine is bright, complex and full-bodied, with a superb core of fruit, a fine spine of acidity, excellent focus and balance and a long, vibrant finish. This has a lovely, cooler vintage profile on the nose, but is already wide open, succulent and energetic on the palate. Excellent Godello! 2026-2036. . John Gilman-Issue#123; May-June 2026
