Tradition, innovation, and passion: this is Herencia, the icon Carmenere that summarizes Santa Carolina?s over 135 year history. A true expression of the Peumo terroir?s typicity, this wine combines the soul of two of Chile?s best Carmenere valleys. This icon wine is a result of team work, with the participation of over 150 people led by Santa Carolina?s Winemaking Manager, Andres Caballero. The 2007 and 2008 vintages reflect our winery?s Chilean Heritage. This exceptional Carmenere from Peumo, in the Cachapoal Valley, is a deep, dark red with a mature bouquet. It is an elegant wine for very special occasions. Herencia has an ageing potential of at least ten years.

Producer
?Finca El Origen began in the 1990s, when Chile?s Carolina Wine Brands decided to expand its viticulture activities into Argentina. In 2002, the company began marketing the first wines under the Finca El Origin or ??Farming the Origin?? label. The grapes used in these wines have always been renowned for their quality, having been used by prestigious wineries for their ultra-premium wines. This continental climate gives Argentine Malbecs and Cabernet Sauvignons their characteristic high concentration, intense color, velvety soft tannins, fruitiness, and food friendly low acidity. The regional Torrontes also develop distinctive characteristics that reflect the terroir of the vineyards and their soil composition. ?
