The Glenrothes distillery is a speyside distillery in Glenrothes that produces one of the best single malt scotch whiskies. Glenrothes distillery was established in 1878 by James Stuart, Robert Dick , John Cruickshank and William Grant . It is now owned by Edrington. Glenrothes is an award winning Single Malt scotch and the water used in making it comes from two natural springs. Since 1993, Glenrothes Single Malt bottling are not determined by age but vintage. That means Scotch whisky is distilled in the year that has reached its peak of maturity, character and flavor.
